Thought of the Week

GeorgieInstead of saying a hundred things, it is better to do one thing properly. Sanctify your life by doing selfless work. For the person who talks a lot, there is no time for work. For the person who is engaged in work, there is no time to talk. Instead of wasting time in your words, use your time in service to mankind, which is service to God, all the while repeating the name of the Lord.

Thought of the Week

PrayIn order to deserve the sacred name, seva (service), the activity must be freed from all attachment to the self, and based on firm faith in the Divine resident in every being. Seva has to be considered as worshipping the form that God has assumed to give the sevak (volunteer) the chance of worship. When a hungry nara (person) is served a hearty meal, what is being done is Narayana Seva (service to God) , for, nara (man) is only ‘a form and a name’ projected by maya (human ignorance) on Narayana (God).

Hands that serve are holier than lips that pray. - SSSB
