Thought of the Week

Tibethan festivalElectric bulbs may be of different colours and sizes, but the electric current passing through them is the same; only the wattage of the bulbs are different. Depending upon the wattage, some bulbs may be bright, while others are dim. The brightness or dimness is due to the wattage of the bulbs alone and has nothing to do with the current. Similarly, the sorrows and difficulties, pleasure and pain experienced by different individuals are their own making. God has nothing to do with it.

Thought of the Week

georgie.jpgThe divine aspect of your personality will encourage humility, truthfulness, love, fortitude, detachment and eagerness to serve. Cherish the manifestations of these qualities in your life, and practice these whenever you get a chance. The innate brotherhood that sanctifies the human race is destroyed by the weeds of envy that grow in the mind.  These weeds ruin one’s personality.

Thought of the Week

Buddha TreeEvery single thing in nature has its code of conduct (Dharma).  Water has its nature and obligation to move; fire the Dharma to burn and consume; the magnet to attract and draw unto itself.  And every one of these, is keeping their code of conduct unchanged, including the stars of the firmament.  The proper code of conduct is “Sathyam Vadha; Dharmam Chara” (Speak the truth and practice righteousness).  You must fill every moment of your life, all of your thoughts, words and deeds, reflecting your awareness of Dharma.  That type of living is the hallmark of good character.
